A young man on trial for wrestling a woman

Dubai Criminal Court sentenced a 22-year-old Arab seller to three months in prison and a penalty of AED 10,000 followed by deportation for physically assaulting an American woman of Arab origin, where he kicked and punched her strongly, until she fell to the ground, and then carried and threw her like wrestlers. He threatened to kill her and insulted her and later sent her apology messages.

The 30-year-old victim stated during the Public Prosecution investigations that the defendant attended her house the day of the incident and insulted her with bad words, she asked him to leave but he started attacking her. She escaped to the bathroom, closed the door, and asked the maid to inform the police, but he threatened to kill her if she called police and she remained in the bathroom until the accused left.

The maid said in her testimony that the defendant came to her employer’s residence and closed the door, later she heard the sound of beatings and him threatening to kill her then he took his bag and left the place. The victim suffered various injuries in her body, blood flowing from her head, and felt pain in her fingers. She went to the hospital and found that one of her fingers was broken.

The Public Prosecution investigations do not know the nature of the accused’s relationship with the victim and the reason for the presence of his belongings in her apartment. The forensic report revealed that she suffered injuries in the thoracic vertebrae and other areas in her body.
