The defendants involved in Kalba brawl referred to the public prosecution

Sharjah Police referred the brawl case that took place before yesterday evening in Kalba city to the Public Prosecution after arresting the defendants, which resulted in the death of an Emirati citizen (25 years) and various injuries of his brother (26 years) who was admitted to the intensive care unit.

A report was received at Kalba police station at around 8:00 pm on Monday about the brawl and immediately all the competent authorities in Sharjah police and the National Ambulance rushed to the scence, where one of them was deeply stabbed and died before reaching the hospital.

Colonel Ali Alki Al Hamoudi, director of the Eastern region Police Department said that an investigation team was formed to uncover the motive behind the brawl where all 3 defendants were arrested within one hour from the incident. After investigations, it was found that the motive behind the brawl was a previous dispute between the parties which later developed to physical assault and stabbing with white weapons.

Colonel Al-Hamoudi expressed his regret over the occurrence of such brawls and resolving personal disputes by violence without seeking legal redress, stressing that Sharjah Police will not tolerate anyone who commits such unlawful acts.
