Murdered his colleague for a sleeping spot

Dubai Criminal Court has sentenced an Asian unemployed man to three years in prison followed by deportation for beating a man to death, without realizing that he had killed him. He slept nearby and the next morning he escaped when he found that the victim was dead but was later arrested by Dubai Police, and admitted his crime. The Public Prosecution convicted him for physical assault which lead to death.

A witness from the Dubai Police in the investigation of the Public Prosecution stated that the command and control room had received a report about a dead body of a person found in a sandy yard behind Grand City Mall, Al Quoz Industrial Area. He added that the accused was not conscious and assaulted his colleague because of a dispute over a sleeping spot that he warned the victim not to sleep in his place.

The defendant confessed to beating the victim with his hands and feet in various parts of his body several times, and did not use any tool to beat him and no one saw the crime because it happened late at night in the sandy yard where no surveillance cameras are in place. The defendant added that he did not murder him intentionally, but he wanted to harm him.
