Weather alert: it will be fair to partly cloudy at times

The National Centre of Meteorology, NCM, on Tuesday warned sea-goers of rough seas in the Oman Sea as a result of fresh winds that reach 40 kmph.

In a statement issued today, the NCM said that wave heights are expected to reach up to 6-feet high over Oman Sea until Tuesday 2:00pm. Residents are advised to be cautious while swimming in the various beaches in the region.

According to the NCM, today’s weather will be fair to partly cloudy at times. It will be humid by night and Wednesday morning over the coastal and internal areas.

“Some clouds will appear over western areas. Light to moderate winds, freshening at times towards eastwards,” the NCM said.

Temperatures will range from 29°C to 34°C in the interior regions, 28°C to 33°C along the coast and 21°C to 27°C in the mountains.

The maximum humidity would be 65 to 85 per cent across coastal, 65 to 85 per cent in interior regions and between 55 to 70 per cent in the mountains.

The seas will be moderate in the Arabian Gulf and moderate to rough at times in the Oman Sea.
