The Integrated Transport Centre Activates Mawaqif SMS Payment for GCC-Registered Vehicles

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) in Abu Dhabi announced that GCC-registered vehicles can now pay for parking fees using SMS by a UAE mobile phone number (Etisalat or Du). The service is offered to facilitate Mawaqif services offered to the residents and visitors of Abu Dhabi.  

Noting that “Mawaqif” parking times are from 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM from Saturday to Thursday. The parking areas are categorised as:

• Premium Parking (blue and white colours) at a rate of 3 Dirhams per hour with a maximum stay of 4 hours.
• Standard Parking (blue and black colours) at a rate of 2 Dirhams per hour or 15 Dirhams per day. Resident Permit Parking is marked with a signboard and/or a blue line, and is enforced from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM. In addition, villa residents parking are dedicated for permit holders only and the parking spaces are identified with signboards.

SMS is charged according to the tariff of the service providers. Visitors from GCC countries can pay for parking fees by sending an SMS to 3009 as follows:

Additionally, visitors from GCC countries can use other parking payment methods like paying cash in Mawaqif Payment machines, Mawaqif rechargeable card, Darb application and M-mawaqif using www.mpark.mawaqif.ae. To that regard, ITC stated that this step comes in part of its endeavour to facilitate the services offered to the visitors and residents of Abu Dhabi.
