Arab man convicted for defrauding woman of Dh194,000

The Dubai Public Prosecution referred a 28-year-old Arab young man who working as a sales executive to the Criminal Court after being charged with threatening, theft and fraud.
According to official records, a woman claimed that she was looking to rent a flat when the defendant posed as a woman and asked her number. He later asked to meet her in a restaurant.
He learnt from her that she was single and that she was looking to rent flat to bring her parents to stay with her. She gave him her father’s number as he told her that he want to marry her.
He advised her to go to her home country where the marriage ceremony would take place, and stole her credit card and booked her a ticket using her card.
After she travelled, he told her that he had to travel to a country claiming he worked for an airline. He promised her, once he has finished his work, he will come to marry her, which is not done.
He stole and used her credit card and her phone and fabricated stories on to conned her out until she send him about Dh194,000.
When she refused to send him more money, he threatened to defame her with her private photos which he obtained from her mobile.
