Abu Dhabi: GCC man on trial for renting, overcrowding his house

The Abu Dhabi Court of Appeals has started the trial of a GCC man who was charged with illegal rental and overcrowding a property by renting his villa to more than two people.

When asked by the court about the incident, the defendant’s lawyer explained that the defendant had rented a housing unit for two people only, but they invited their friends for a party. However, an inspection team had confirmed that they were all living in the villa.

The court of first degree fined the accused with AED 5,000, and evacuating of the residential villa from tenants.
