Sharjah Police investigates with a resident who offended Egypt on social media

Sharjah Police summoned an Egyptian man residing in the UAE, after he published a tweet on the first day of Eid Al Fitr, blatantly abusing Egyptian policemen who were killed during a clash with a group of terrorists.

An official source stated that he was arrested after publishing this insulting tweet that expressed his hatred for the Egyptian police. He was interrogated by Sharjah Police. The source explained that the arrested man has all the legal rights guaranteed by the UAE Constitution.

He pointed out that the UAE’s special law on the fight against cyber crimes was found to put an end to abuses committed by some people on social media, which offend people, countries, race or religion.

The accused published a tweet on his Facebook account, saying: “Isn’t this the best Eidiyah” -Eidiyah is money given out to children as a gift on Eid-, the man attached a picture showing the news of the death of 10 Egyptian police in the attack on a security site in Arish.
