DHA takes action against doctors, clinic for medical malpractice

Following the incident of an Emirati female who entered a coma due to malpractice, Dubai Health Authority (DHA) announced that it has suspended the First Med Day Surgery Centre in Dubai from conducting any surgeries until the reveal of investigation’s results.

Dr Marwan Al Mulla, CEO of the Health Regulation Sector at the DHA, confirmed that the authority has taken all the needed measures, both legal and administrative after it was notified of the case. Preliminary investigation also found that the Emirati patient, who was admitted to the centre for a deviated septum surgery was a victim of medical malpractice.
