Dubai: Employee steals colleague’s money from her open drawer

An employee took advantage of his co-worker’s absence from her office -leaving her drawer open- and stole 1,000 dirhams from her drawer.

The Dubai Public Prosecution investigated the incident in which the defendant, who works as a reporter and distributes papers between offices.

On the day of the incident, the accused had received papers from a staff member to give to the victim. When he went to her office, he did not find her, and noticed that her office drawer was open.

After she returned, she discovered the disappearance of her money and informed her boss who investigated the incident. By reviewing the CCTV footage, it was revealed that the reporter was the one who took the money, the police were immediately informed and arrested him.
