GCAA participates in investigation following Ethiopian Airlines crash

The UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced that it is working along with the US Federal Aviation Administration and Boeing to gather information on the crash of the Ethiopian Airlines B737 Max 8 plane just minutes after it took off from Addis Ababa two days ago, killing the 157 people on board.

The agency stated today that it had also contacted China’s National Aviation Association, the Cayman Islands’ Civil Aviation Authority and the Ethiopian Airlines for more information on why the aircraft were banned from taking flight.

The statement concluded that the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GCAA) is closely monitoring the situation in order to take the necessary safety measures in a timely manner and that it will not hesitate to ban the Boeing 737 Max Emirates Airline if necessary to ensure the highest aviation safety standards.
