RAK: 19-month-old Egyptian girl injured after a 10th floor fall

A 19-month-old girl has miraculously survived a fall from the 10th floor of a building in Ras Al Khaimah. She is currently fighting for her life at the ICU of Saqr hospital.

The Egyptian girl, fell from the window of a 10th floor apartment in Ras Al Khaimah at 11:15 PM on Sunday night. The girl fell on a windscreen of a parked car under the building which reduced the impact of the fall, according to medical sources at Saqr Hospital.

The girl sustained fractures and severe injuries in different parts of her body, she also underwent urgent abdominal surgery, to ensure her safety from internal bleeding, and was transferred to Obaid Allah Hospital for further examinations, before being returned to Saqr Hospital to complete the treatment. She is now in a critical state according to doctors.

The girl fell after she climbed a new sofa placed under a window.  The father received a call from his wife to inform him of the incident.

The father explained that he bought a new sofa two weeks ago after his mother came for visit from Egypt to spend some time with them. He explained that his house is “small” and said he bought the Sofa to sleep on it and leave his bed for his mother to sleep on.
