Ajman: Maid gets 6 months sentence for posting photos of sponsor’s family

A 29-year-old Asian maid was sentenced to six months in prison by Ajman Criminal Court, in addition to deportation from the country after serving her sentence.

The maid had posted pictures of her Emirati sponsor’s family members on Facebook without taking permission, she also added sarcastic comments about the family members. Other pictures showed her wearing clothes from her sponsor’s wife without permission.

The defendant accused the maid of invading the privacy of his family. The defendant admitted that she washed the wife’s clothes when they were travelling abroad and wore some of them only to take pictures and return them.
