Sharjah: Maid accused of setting her sponsor’s car on fire

A hearing is scheduled on February 20th for a maid who is on trial for setting fire to her sponsor’s car in Sharjah.

He alleged that she used gasoline and set his car on fire because she didn’t want to go to his uncle’s home.

The sponsor had come to his house around 12:00 PM in the afternoon and saw his maid standing near his car, claiming that she was putting out the fire.

Civil defence was notified of the incident and came to extinguish the blaze.  However, the man suspected she was the one who started the fire because she had called him earlier to ask what time he would return home.

The maid denied the crime in court, and the judge requested a specialist to determine whether the fire was extinguished before or after the arrival of the civil defence.
