Brigadier Jamal Salem Al Jallaf, Director of Criminal Investigation Department at Dubai Police, revealed a 3.4% decrease in crimes of last year in Dubai, compared to the same period of 2017, due to the efforts of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and its field teams in professionally dealing with all extreme events, enabling teams to capture those who tamper with security.
He added that the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation is working to upgrade the level of combating crime using artificial intelligence. A smart guard system will be launched soon in Dubai, following the installation of guidance boards in residential areas, and cooperation with the private sector to provide homes with optional surveillance cameras.
He explained that the program is a preventive security service to protect people’s homes while vacationing inside or outside the country, or during travel for any other reasons, the system will send a notice to the operations room in Dubai Police in case of the entry of any stranger to the subscriber’s home.
Al Jallaf said that the Department seeks through the development plans to achieve the objectives of reducing the crime rates in Dubai, in addition to the operational programs for patrolling in all regions, and to strive to develop the fieldwork, in addition to updating programs and preventive plans that support the teams in the administration.
