Dubai: Asian maid strangles baby after giving birth out of wedlock

The Dubai appeals court reduced the previous life sentence of a 32-year-old Asian maid to five years in prison and deportation from the country, after the maid was convicted of murdering her own child.

The maid’s employer noticed that the defendant entered the toilet and stayed there for about two hours. Then she went out and showed signs of exhaustion, with a plastic bag in her hand and laid down on a chair in the hall. The maid claimed that this was all the result of her menstrual cycle, but upon transferring her to the hospital, doctors informed her employer to tell her that the defendant was in a state of birth. When they returned to the house, it was revealed that the plastic bag had a newborn inside after the accused choked him with a cloth.
