Insurance Authority warns insurance companies against delayed approvals

The Insurance Authority (IA)  confirmed that any insurance company’s delay in paying for claims, or in granting health insurance approvals, is unacceptable, and is a legal breach that the company is liable to.

The Authority stated that the instructions of the rules of practice to be followed by insurance companies stipulate that the claims must be decided according to the provisions of the document without undue delay. It was also pointed out that the Authority has powers under the law, to impose administrative sanctions against violating companies.
