Grand Imam of Al Azhar greets Pope Francis on Christmas

Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed El Tayyeb today greeted Pope Francis of the Catholic Church, and Christians on Christmas.

In a phone call with the pope, El Tayyeb wished more consolidation of coexistence among people, and respecting the beliefs of others.

He also congratulated the pope on his 82nd birth anniversary.

Pope Francis thanked the Grand Imam for the good gesture, saying he is looking forward to meeting him in Abu Dhabi soon.
