‘Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival’ to open tomorrow

The “Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival 2018” will begin tomorrow at Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, and will run until 26th January, under the theme, “The UAE: Where World Cultures Meet.”

The new edition of the festival, which will be free to the public, has become an international educational and cultural heritage festival, due to the support and patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the supervision of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President, Chairman of the Emirates Camel Racing Federation and Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival, inspected the festival site on Tuesday, to assess the preparations for its opening.

The festival reflects the interest of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in Emirati heritage, as well as his efforts to preserve the country’s heritage and transfer it to future generations. This year’s festival will affirm that the UAE is where world cultures meet and highlight the vision of Sheikh Zayed to create a civilised country that spreads the culture of tolerance and peace around the world.

The festival will include many daily activities, such as a horse and camel show (Arda), international folk shows, an Arabian horse beauty contest, military heritage music shows, and individual art shows, as well as an international theme park, horse and camel riding, and an outdoor cinema for the children.
