Sharjah: 12-year-old student run over by speeding car

A 12-year-old Asian student was run over by a speeding car at Al Ta’awun road at 5:48AM.  Sharjah Police are currently investigating the run-over accident.

As soon as the report was received, police patrols, and the national ambulance moved to the scene. The girl was found to be severely injured by the accident and was immediately taken to Al-Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah for treatment. Anjad patrols directed drivers to use alternative roads.

According to the preliminary investigation, the student was crossing the road alone from non-designated area to the bus on the other side of the road and the driver didn’t pay attention to the road.

Sharjah Police expressed their grief over the accident and wished the injured child a fast recovery, Sharjah Police also called on motorists to exercise caution while driving, especially during the peak hours of the morning and evening, when the students return to their homes.
