Sharjah: Woman charged with taking 15 pills to abort child

The Sharjah Misdemeanors Court received a case of an Arab woman who intentionally had an abortion by taking 15 pills, after which she suffered a severe bleeding, leading to her abortion.

In details, the incident took place when the accused’s husband went to the police station, along with a medical report from the Al-Qassimi Hospital, stating that his wife had an abortion, and lost their baby after she was 6 weeks and 4 days pregnant. After investigations with the accused and her husband, they both denied what was stated in the medical report, and confirmed that the abortion, occurred as a result of the wife taking medicine “prescribed by a doctor in a private clinic” for an abdominal pain she was having.

Her husband denied this and confirmed that when his wife told him that she was bleeding, she was immediately transferred to the hospital, but the doctors told them that they had lost the baby because the pregnancy was poor.
