After several technical tests and inspection, Abu Dhabi Police revealed that Tuesday’s Bani Yas fire incident was a result of an electric circuit and extensions shortage in the right wing of the villa’s main hall of the villa, where the fire started.
Abu Dhabi Police has intensified awareness campaigns through its social media outlets and local newspapers of the importance of ensuring the validity of electrical appliances, wiring, and being careful when using them, in addition to periodically conducting the necessary inspection of fire extinguishers in homes.
It was previously announced by ADP that a fire incident on Tuesday killed eight people, including five children and three women, all from one family, while a woman and three girls are receiving hospital treatment and their condition is stable.
Abu Dhabi Police also urged the public to take preventive measures at homes to ensure their safety, and to avoid such accidents that may occur as a result of a defect in the electrical circuits.
