Dubai: Drunk man sneaks into his neighbors’ apartment, harasses sleeping woman

A drunk worker sneaked into an apartment in the building where he lives, and entered a room with five women and sexually harassed one of them. When he was arrested, he stated that he did not realize that it was not his apartment.

The victim stated that she was sleeping in her room which is shared with four other women. During her sleep, she felt someone pulling the pillow off her head and trying to touch her body inappropriately, she opened her eyes and saw it was a man. She woke up and ran away from the scene, the victim stated “I woke up my roommates and we checked the hallway’s CCTV footage, which showed the suspect who was also caught turning the room kitchen’s light off so his face would not show in the dark”.

A Dubai police official stated that he moved to the scene after receiving a report of the incident. He asked the security guard to call the suspect from his apartment and he smelled of alcohol. The accused admitted that he was under the influence of Alcohol  and had entered the victim’s apartment by mistake, the lights were off so he did not recognize anyone. The accused repeated the statement before the criminal court.
