Abu Dhabi Police stops an Asian man’s attempted suicide above an Etisalat tower

Abu Dhabi police succeeded in convincing an Asian man in his 20s to stop a suicide attempt as he tried to jump off an Etisalat tower on Hameem road due to his problems. The negotiations lasted for short time.

Brigadier General Musallam Mohammed Al Ameri, director of the police directorate of external areas, stated that the man threatened to jump off the tower, and that it is unclear how he managed to climb the tower.

The Abu Dhabi Police Central Operations Command and Control Center received a report at 2:30 PM on Thursday that a person had attempted to commit suicide. Ambulance, Civil Defence and police patrols immediately moved to the scene.
