Dubai: Manager on trial for continuously harassing maids

The Dubai Criminal Court has received the case of an Asian manager who harassed an Asian maid after he asked for cleaning services from the company she works in for his house in Jumeirah. The same man was previously found guilty of sexually harassing another woman in the same manner.

According to investigations by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the defendant took advantage of the maid being alone with him in his house, and touched her inappropriately, but she managed to get rid of him, escape, and inform her manager who contacted the police.

The victim stated that she realized the suspect’s intentions since she arrived to his house, as it did not need that much cleaning but he asked for Four hours of cleaning services. He also asked her for a massage, but she refused and told him that her work is limited to cleaning service only. However, the man still touched her inappropriately.

After cleaning up the bed room, she tried to leave, but he took her to a smaller room and closed the door, attacked and harassed her, but she pushed him away and managed to escape his grip.

Prosecutors ‘investigations revealed that the defendant had another similar case filed on May 31st., when he was referred to the Criminal Court for harassing another woman in the same manner. He was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment and deportation.
