A gang of six Asian drug dealers were arrested and 19 kg of heroin seized in two operations by Shajrah police.
Lieutenant Colonel Majid Al Asm, director of Anti-Narcotics Department in Sharjah police, said the suspects were trying to sell the drugs to young people inside the country.
He said that they cooperated with Dubai and Fujairah police in two operations to identify the location of the suspects and the drugs.
Sharjah police received information from sources about a group of Asian suspects were possessing illegal drugs.
In the first case, three were arrested and 50 pills of heroin were seized. A fourth suspect was arrested later with 49 pills of drugs. Total weight of drugs was 1.2 Kg of heroin.
In the second case, two suspects were arrested and 18 Kg of heroin seized.
Police said that the drugs were hidden in different locations in the UAE.
Sharjah police praised Dubai and Fujairah police’s efforts in arresting the suspects and providing information.
The suspects confessed to possessing the drugs and referred to justice for punishment.
