According to Dubai Court of First Instance, a 35-year-old, unemployed, Pakistani man was accused of buying a passport with Dh700 to fly back home.
According to court records, he approached another Pakistani man and asked if he could help by lending him a passport since he had no travel documents. The passport owner agreed to give him his passport for a payment of Dh700.
However, the passport control officer caught the accused as he was leaving the country on April 29 through Dubai International Airport. When the police arrested him, the defendant admitted that the passport belonged to someone else who agreed to lend it.
Investigations showed that the passport was not forged, but the passport and visa picture belonged to someone else.
The accused pleaded guilty when he stood before the Court of First Instance, and he awaits the ruling in the case on July 16.
