ADNOC Flex: No Phones allowed while self fueling, here’s why

Colonel Sami Al Naqbi, Director General of the Civil Defense Department in Sharjah, warned against the use of mobile phones while self fueling within ADNOC flex service, which was recently launched by ADNOC. The decision came because this act could put people at high risk and cause fires.

Al-Naqbi pointed out while talking on a well known radio show, that many users of ADNOC’s fuel-filling service use mobile phones, which may pose a threat to their lives, adding that there is a build up of gas during the filling process, which can get burned if exposed to a source of heat, and since the phone contains microwaves that spread electromagnetic waves, it’s not allowed to use phones while self fueling.

He called on the users to stop the engine immediately and not to use the mobile phone or smoke, to help achieve the success of the experience launched by ADNOC.
