Fujairah: Two men get a 2-year sentence after stealing money posing as police officers

The Fujairah Appeals Chamber considered the case of two young Gulf nationals who went under cover as police officers and stole people’s money.

The details of the case reveal that the defendants stopped the victim while driving and told him that they were policemen, taking the amount of money he had in hand. The victim immediately informed the police.

After interrogation and investigation, the suspects were arrested and transferred to the court, which issued its decision earlier to imprison them for two years.

The Appeals Chamber re-questioned one of the defendants about the incident, he acknowledged his action and demanded that the sentence be reduced. The chamber closed the case file to issue the verdict at a later hearing.
