Dubai: Passenger gets 10 years imprisonment for attempting to smuggle drugs in his body

The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced a defendant to 10 years in prison, a fine of 50,000 dirhams and deportation from the country for bringing 54 narcotic capsules for the purpose of dealing.

Details of the case reveal that the defendant attempted to deceive security officers at Dubai International Airport by concealing a quantity of narcotic substances in 54 plastic capsules and then swallowing them into his stomach.
