Abu Dhabi: Mother causes her son’s imprisonment and deportation

The ignorance of an Asian mother of laws and regulations that criminalize the use and possession of narcotic drugs causes her son to be sentenced to one year in prison with the order to deport him from the country following the sentence.

The case, which was received by Abu Dhabi Criminal Court, began with the security authorities at Abu Dhabi International Airport stopping an Asian man coming to the country from his home country, after inspection procedures, his bags turned out to contain banned cannabis.

In court, the defendant attributed the reason for the presence of narcotic substance to his mother’s ignorance of the international laws that prevent the abuse and possession of drugs, and said that his mother put the cannabis seized with him, inside his travel bag.
