The UAE passport achieves new international strength and status day after day. The number of countries in which ordinary citizens of the UAE can enter without visas, obtaining a visa at the airport or registering online before traveling reached 144 countries after the addition of Uruguay, which recently signed an agreement to exempt the citizens of the state from the visa.
The UAE passport is ranked 19th in the world and is expected to make further progress this year as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation successfully signs agreements and memorandums of understanding with new countries for visa exemptions.
The recent memorandum of understanding with the Republic of Uruguay exempts holders of diplomatic, private and official passports of normal visas, which will facilitate the entry, exit and transit of citizens of the two countries through their territories without obtaining a visa and without fees for up to 90 days.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s list of countries with which UAE citizens can travel without prior visas includes 144 countries that do not require a visa (full exemption), and countries that obtain a visa at airports. In addition to countries requiring citizens to apply online through websites such as Australia, Britain, India, Japan and Tajikistan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has launched the Passport Authority initiative to be placed on the list of the top five passports in the world by 2021, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
These steps reflect the success of the UAE’s diplomacy during the past period in the implementation of the directives of the wise leadership, led by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and his highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, calling for openness to all countries of the world.
