Dubai: Gang on trial after using a minor girl for prostitution

The Dubai Criminal Court put an Asian gang of four on trial last Wednesday, the gang was accused of exploiting the need of a minor girl from their nationality for money and bringing her into the country for use -among others- in prostitution.

The girl confessed in the investigations of the Public Prosecution that she came to the country at the end of last year willingly and without the gang members forcing her, adding that she was aware of the nature of her work with the defendants, justifying her consent that the financial situation of her family is very poor and they need money. One of her friends, who is a fugitive in this case, encouraged her to come to the country.

A policeman testified to the competent authorities that an Asian gang was using a minor girl for prostitution. A team was formed to monitor the apartment in which they were in preparation for the arrest. Indeed, the arrest happened and they were all transferred to the Public Prosecution and then to trial.
