Pope Leo will undergo surgery to remove nodule detected in his lung

Pope Leo XIV announced today that he will be undergoing surgery soon after doctors found a nodule in his lung.

The pope told worshippers at St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City that the procedure has already been scheduled and will take place in the coming days.

He added that the nodule was “detected at a very early stage and is well localized.”
