Sharjah.. Dedicated lanes for bikes, heavy vehicles and buses from November 1

Sharjah Police and the Roads and Transport Authority announced that designated lanes will be allocated for motorcycles including delivery bikes, as well as for heavy vehicles, and buses on the emirate’s main and secondary roads, effective November 1.

The rightmost lane will be designated for heavy vehicles and buses.

Motorcycles will be allowed to use the third and fourth lanes on the right on four-lane roads, while on three-lane roads, they will be allowed to use the middle or right lane.

A fine of AED 1,500 and 12 black points will be imposed if a heavy vehicle fails to adhere to the mandatory lane, and a fine of AED 500 will be imposed if drivers fail to adhere to traffic signs and instructions.
