The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has announced a major project to enhance Emirates Road, with a budget of AED 750 million.
Implementation is set to begin in September 2025.
The project spans 25 kilometres, starting from Al Badee Interchange in Sharjah, and includes a 65% increase in the road’s capacity, accommodating up to 9,000 vehicles per hour.
It involves enhancing the capacity of Intersection No. 7 by constructing six bridges with a total length of 12.6 kilometers, along with the construction of collector roads on both sides of the road with a total length of 3.4 kilometers.
Additionally, new traffic lanes will be added, covering a total length of 70 kilometers.
