Hurricane Helene makes landfall in Florida’s Big Bend

Hurricane Helene has made landfall in the Florida Big Bend, the US National Hurricane Centre said on late on Thursday.

Reuters quoted the Miami-based forecaster as saying that Helene is located about 45 miles (70 km) east-southeast of Tallahassee, Florida, with maximum sustained winds of 140 mph (225 kph).
