A rare hybrid solar eclipse to take place next Thursday

Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Astronomy Society: On 20 April 2023, a hybrid solar eclipse will take place (Total, partial or annular) depending on the region and time.

The rare event will be visible in northern Australia, Indonesia, and the Indian Ocean between 01:34 to 06:59 UTC (UAE +4) coinciding with the birth of Shawwal Crescent 1444 AH. The solar eclipse will not be seen in the UAE or Arab countries.
