Global COVID-19 cases cross 488.94 million

More than 488.94 million people have been reported to be infected by the coronavirus globally, and 6,524,431 have died, according to a Reuters tally on Monday.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in December 2019.
