• All national authorities have been keen to cooperate with the health sector since the start of the crisis, to establish plans to ensure readiness for future pandemics.
• MoHAP in cooperation with health authorities, is providing the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to children aged 5 – 11. This decision was based on the results of studies & strict evaluations & the undertaking of local assessments that comply with international regulations.
• COVID-19 vaccines are considered safe & are some of the best tools for protecting society, helping enhance immunity, preventing complications, and lowering hospitalisation and intensive care rates, especially in light of the emergence of new mutations.
• The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is available in health & vaccine centres & is given over 2 doses at an interval of 21 days between the 1st & 2nd dose.
• The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for children is an additional option to the previously approved Sinopharm vaccine for children aged between 3 and 12.
• we urge community members to take the initiative to vaccinate their children to ensure their health, which is also a priority and will provide a means of prevention for all segments of society.
• COVID-19 vaccines are some of the best methods for preventing infection & maintaining health and safety. They also mitigate the severity of infection in the event of exposure to the virus and reduce complications & hospitalisation rates.
• Studies have proven that booster shots play a major role in strengthening immunity to protect the body from the virus.
• We urge those unvaccinated to get the COVID-19 vaccine, as the health sector provides a wide variety of approved vaccines.
