The UAE President issues a Federal Decree-Law Regulating Labor Relations in the Private Sector, which includes :
• Introducing a number of paid leaves for the worker, including: mourning leave ranging from 3 to 5 days according to the degree of the deceased’s relatives, in addition to the five-day parental leave.
• The decree specified one type of contract in terms of duration, and it is a limited contract that does not exceed three years. The contract may be extended or renewed for similar or lesser periods for one time or more after the agreement of the two parties.
• Prohibition of discrimination in jobs with the same job duties. This excludes the rules and procedures that would enhance the participation of UAE citizens in the labor market.
• The decree provisions will be effective from February 2, 2022, on all establishments, employers and workers in the private sector.
