Abu Dhabi Police has warned job seekers outside the country from fake online recruitment companies that frauds them and seizes their money.
Brigadier General Saeed Mohammed Al Kaabi, Director of Information Security called on those looking for job opportunities to be cautious while dealing with employment sites that take advantage of their need for jobs. Adding that reliable recruitment companies would not require them to pay money or provide confidential personal data.
He also pointed out that fake recruitment is one of the new ways frauds use to deceive their victims. Abu Dhabi Police Department is keen to raise awareness among job seekers about the risks of fraud and fake recruitment. Pointing out that fraudsters usually choose victims who are outside the country, where the target is selected and contacted by telephone or E-mail, he is then urged contact the travel office to complete the procedures for obtaining a work visa in the country, and that’s when he is asked to transfer the visa fees through international exchange centers.
