Abu Dhabi: 14-year-old girl gets harassed by an Asian worker in a mosque courtyard

A 14-year-old girl was harassed by an Asian cleaner after she went to perform Asr prayer in a mosque next to her house. The girl was playing in the courtyard of the mosque when she fell and hurt her leg and began to cry.

Trying to calm her, the worker began to pressure on the place of pain. He also took advantage of her pain, and began to touch her inappropriately by inserting his hand under her Abaya.

The girl was shocked with what is happening, so she began to scream, and ran away. The girl told her family what happened, who immediately informed the authorities of the incident. The man was arrested,  and interrogated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and then referred to court on charges of harassing a child.

The court of first instance, sentenced him to three months in prison, and deportation from the country. The Abu Dhabi Court of Appeal decided to hold the case until the hearing on August 15.
