Ras Al Khaimah: Six-year-old child drowns, dies in a hotel pool

A six-year-old Asian girl drowned in the swimming pool of a hotel in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah yesterday.

According to Major Abdullah Ali Al-Nuaimi, acting head of the Emirate’s police station, the incident happened in one of the swimming pools of a tourism resort in the emirate, competent authorities and the National Ambulance moved to the scene, and transferred the girl to the nearest hospital, but she had already lost her life.

Initial investigations revealed that the mother of the girl went to the swimming pool with her six year old daughter and her younger brother. As they were swimming, the mother was busy watching her little son, not knowing that the girl had drowned.

Some witnesses tried to perform first aid on the girl until the arrival of the national ambulance, but she had died. The case file was then forwarded to the competent authorities to complete the rest of the procedures.
