Abu Dhabi Police calls on the public to refrain from publishing and circulating rumours on social media as some people promot fake news which affects the public opinion. Spreading rumors is a crime punishable by law, leading to imprisonment for a period not less than a year. Rumor-mongers take advantage of crises to spread panic among people.
