The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) revealed that around 200 accounts on social media platforms were shut down during the first half of 2026, in collaboration with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), for promoting domestic worker recruitment and employment services without obtaining the necessary licenses or being affiliated with any of the recruitment offices licensed by the Ministry.
MoHRE reaffirmed its commitment to continuing its oversight efforts, relying on a comprehensive system that combines field inspection teams, electronic monitoring and tracking systems, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to detect and address unlawful practices, helping protect employers and families and ensure their access to safe and reliable services from approved providers.
The Ministry commended TDRA for its cooperation in supporting the process of closing unlicensed accounts, stressing that the integration of government efforts contributes to curbing unlawful practices and enhancing the reliability of the domestic worker services market.
Dealing with licensed Domestic Worker Recruitment Offices provides the customer with more than just a recruitment service, MoHRE explained, noting that this ensures customers benefit from a range of rights and guarantees, including clear contracts and prices, adherence to approved procedures, and the ability to revert to the Ministry in case of any feedback or complaints. It also serves to ensure the workers have fulfilled the relevant regulatory procedures and requirements.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation called on employers and families to choose licensed recruitment offices as the safe and reliable option for recruitment services, given the guarantees they provide that safeguard the rights of all parties involved. It stressed the importance of going through official channels and verifying the source of offers and advertisements circulated on social media before taking any action or paying any fees.
Moreover, the Ministry affirmed that licensed offices operate according to specific service quality standards and controls, and adhere to approved prices and packages. They also provide customers with workers who meet the prescribed requirements and procedures, and who are subject to continuous monitoring and follow-up by the Ministry’s teams to verify compliance with approved conditions. These guarantees serve to ensure a safe and reliable recruitment experience, preserving the rights of all parties in the process.
MoHRE called on the public to report any misleading practices or advertisements promoting domestic worker services without a license by calling 600590000. It also invited them to browse the list of licensed recruitment offices published through its official website.
