Dubai Police Impound Car and Quad Bike for Performing Stunts in Family Camping sites in Al Ruwayyah

The Dubai Police General Department of Traffic in Dubai Police has impounded a car and a recreational motorcycle for performing stunts in family camping areas in Al Ruwayyah, endangering their own lives and those of others.

His Excellency Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, explained that the traffic patrols summoned two reckless drivers, one driving a four-wheel-drive vehicle and the other a recreational motorcycle, for performing stunts and driving recklessly near family camping sites in Al Ruwayyah.

Al Mazrouei pointed out that the traffic patrols dealt firmly with the situation by immediately impounding the vehicle and the motorcycle and transferring the drivers to the competent police station for further legal procedures.

Al Mazrouei noted that the provisions of Decree (30) concerning the impoundment of vehicles were applied. “This Decree aims to preserve lives and property and to penalise reckless drivers who endanger their lives and the lives of others, where the cost of releasing the impounded vehicle and motorcycle could reach 50,000 Dirhams,” he said.

He also mentioned that there are deterrent measures against driving vehicles or recreational bikes recklessly in wilderness areas. He noted that driving cars, quad bikes, and others in wilderness areas is subject to many standards that ensure everyone’s safety. He warned against engaging in disorderly conduct and reckless driving that disturbs others and added that there is no tolerance in dealing with such acts.

Al Mazrouei appealed to community members to report negative traffic phenomena or reckless behaviours through the “Police Eye” service on the Dubai Police smart app or by calling the number 901, wishing safety for all.
