Romelu Lukaku fires Chelsea into FIFA Club World Cup final

UEFA Champions League holders Chelsea today reached the FIFA Club World Cup final on their second appearance in the competition.

Thomas Tuchel’s side beat Saudi giants Al Hilal in the semi-finals at Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium in Al Jazira Club in the Emirati capital to set up a showpiece against Braqzil’s Palmeiras on Saturday on the same pitch where the Blues will be looking to become the eighth different European winners of the competition and the ninth in a row.

Romelu Lukaku was on the scoresheet as the Londoners won 1-0, whilst Palmeiras defeated Egyptian opponents Al Ahly 2-0 in the semi-finals yesterday. The two beaten semi-finalists will meet in the third-place play-off on Saturday at Al Nahyan Stadium.
