During media briefing.. UAE extends distance learning system for one week

  • The national efforts of federal & local authorities and private entities to maintain a healthy & preventive environment are ongoing. All authorities have specialist teams who can ensure the health & stability of the community.
  • The booster shot is among the key factors that will maintain the public’s health and safety of the community’s members, as it is proven to be efficient in boosting acquired immunity, to address the current situation amidst rising infections.
  • We urge eligible individuals to take the vaccine booster shot to protect themselves and the community, especially the elderly and those with chronic diseases, underpinning the national efforts to address the virus and its variants.
  • We urge the community’s members to adhere to the precautionary measures.

Hazza Al-Mansoori, the spokesman for the educational sector in the UAE:

  • The Extension of the distance learning system for a period of one week for schools and universities, starting from January 17, 2022, to January 21, 2022.
  • Postponing all exams for schools and universities that require the student’s physical attendance until after January 28, 2022.
  • We stress the educational sector is ready & has undertaken proactive procedures for handling emergency cases due to its keenness to ensure the continuity of the education process through the continuous monitoring of the health situation.
  • The pandemic is being closely monitored, to facilitate the safe return of students, teachers and administrative staff at educational facilities and protect their health and safety.
  • The administrations & cadres of educational institutions have demonstrated professionalism in their flexible handling of the pandemic. We would like to thank them for their keenness to implement the country’s directives & ensure the public’s health and safety.
