During the UAE government media briefing.. Update on the mosques’ reopening protocol in the UAE

• According to the Bloomberg COVID-19 resilience ranking, the UAE came at the forefront of countries regionally and ranked 15th globally, advanced 3 ranks since last July.

• Our World in Data website indicated that the UAE leads globally in the percentage of those who received two doses of the vaccine out of the total population. It also leads the world in the rate of distributing doses per 100 people for countries with more than one million population.

  • The poll results of the parents’ desire for their children to return to school showed that 73% support in-person learning compared to 27% who prefer distance learning.
  • The latest vaccination statistics showed that the percentage of vaccinated school students reached 36%, while the vaccination rate of administrative, academic and service cadres reached 89.5%, which is a positive indicator that increases the educational environment safety.

• In coordination with the Ministry of Health and Prevention, and the Ministry of Education, it has been decided to conduct PCR tests for all the vaccinated students, administrative, academic and technical staff free of charge every 30 days in all public and private educational facilities across the country.

• To facilitate movement between the GCC countries, we announce the adoption of COVID-19 Apps approved by the Ministry of Health in these countries to be used to enter the United Arab Emirates.

• As part of efforts to achieve sustainable recovery in all sectors, we also announce an update on the mosques reopening protocol in the UAE.

• The distance between worshipers will be reduced from two meters to one and a half meters, while ablution places and mosques on external roads will remain closed.
